Didn't work either, I'm getting pissed off with this, 3 days in a row trying to fix this and holding my friend up with playing with him.

Since the game is from Steam, this is definitely a steam problem.

1) Do a file integrity check (right click the game in steam, properties > local files > verify integrity of local cache)

If these do not work, try running the game again as ad administrator. Then, attach me here the file HPL.log found under Documents\Penumbra\Black Plague folder (or similar).

the important things are the file integrity check and the HPL.log. Try the check and I want that file...

Can't find a HPL.log file, looked through my whole penumbra folder...

I've already done that file integrity saying no problems were found, yet it doesn't work.

It is located at Documents\Penumbra\Black Plague folder (or similar), not the program files directory.

Did you try to add another language? Anyway, delete the folder Documents/Penumbra/Black Prague. That should fix the problem.

Your error is: ERROR: Couldn't create font 'font_menu_small.fnt'

I think I remember now, I tryed to crack the game once, resulting in a fail cause it was russian.

Now that I bought an English version, they might have conflicted...
