Photo  [Amnesia] Screenshot criticism thread

Having a pretty screenshot next to your story download link is extremely important if you want to attract more players. That is the reason why I created this thread, to study the art of screenshots!
Post your screenshots and give/receive constructive criticism.
I hope this thread gains interest and will stay active for a long time (and damn it has! <3 )

Useful stuff:
1. Don't post unreasonably large images in this thread and keep them inside spoilers or just give a link to a high resolution one.
2. Amnesia is a dark game. Too dark screenshots are bad. If you don't want to tune up your lighting in the level editor, just use an image editing software to brighten your screenshots up. I used Gimps Curves feature to tweak them.
3. If you post here, your work will be analyzed to help you improve. If you can't handle criticism or don't want to improve, don't bother posting.
4. All kinds of criticism is welcome here!
5. Don't be too harsh, but try not to lift anyone's ego to the ionosphere either...

Spoiler below!

Below will be random blogs/tutorials I've found that don't first off feel that important to a starter. But in the end, its the small things that give life and atmosphere to a game like amnesia. I'd really appreciate if you post suggestions here so I can update with more.
- Color theory
-
- Making Game Levels Interesting
- About lighting in level design
- Rule of thirds (compositions more in depth here and here too, useful for your screenshots)
- The finishing garbage detail (Tower22's programmer writing, but makes good points)
- If your picture doesn't read in thumbnail size, it doesn't look good with proper size either. Better composition or more contrast might help.

This is pretty good =] Maybe should be in the Atricles thread section, but nonetheless, people could learn a bit.

Only got 1601x899 (would need to take a new screenshot for a bigger one and even that would be just 1680x1050. So wait for the release and take it yourself :u)

For the first one, it's a little too dark. And try from a corner if possible to cover the majority of the map. Also maybe make the fog a TINT of orange, as though the light was being soaked up by the dust. Again... Only a SMIDGE of orange. I know how you are, you shouldn't overdo it, but still. Also only to the fog particles NEAR the light. the fog to the right won't be touched >>

As for the second... Looks just fine =] Maybe give it an exposure filter to give a sense of mystery.
