Solved: 8 Years, 8 Months, 3 Weeks ago Level Editor Keeps Crashing!!!

Hi there! I want to make custom stories so badly, but I have a small problem. Every time I open up the level editor, I can use it for about five minutes, but then it gives me a message saying it has crashed. The exact message is "LevelEditor.exe cause an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module nvoglnt.dll at 001B:69591240"
In case its needed, my GPU is a Nvidia 9500GT and my CPU is an Intel E8400 3.0 GHZ

Thanks a bunch!

I posted this in the mods thread, but now that I think about it, that probably wasn't the right place to post it, so here's my problem. I am running a copy of Amnesia from steam, and the level editor is from Frictional Games's website. I use Windows XP and have a Nvidia 9500 GT, along with an Intel E8400 3.0ghz cpu. It seems from the screen that the editor attempts to update before quickly giving me the message"LevelEditor.exe cause an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module nvoglnt.dll at 001B:69591240" Thanks for the help!

What is this driver software for exactly?

I just found out by a quick google search. Thanks a ton! If all else fails I can also just rename the file, and it will fall back on DirectX

No, don't worry, I installed it and it runs fine now, but after a large amount of googling, I also found that I could rename the nvolgnt file and the machine will use directx instead. Sorry for the confusion! Smile

No, no DirectX is a way for the hardware to communicate with the software. The same applies to OpenGL. You cannot choose whether you want OpenGL or DirectX. Both are installed by the nvidia graphics card driver and user when needed. Amnesia uses OpenGL and not DirectX. Do not change and rename files otherwise you may have problems with the drivers. Install them as they came from nvidia.com
