It is not possible to easily create an option for it (turning it off would create issues in some levels), so that will not be added. I have put it on the list for things to patch, to discuss if the fog settings should be tweaked. So it might change in a future update, but not certain and there is no estimate as to when this patch will come.

For me the blue haze has been just ok, hasn't gotten in the way of anything but I'm also not sure if it's adding anything good to the experience

I've been wondering, could this be the boxlights fault? Or does this/these level/levels have a boxlight anyway?

I have a longshot idea on what could be causing the haze to appear every time, even after I make a new account and create a new game. I clearly remember that in the beginning there was no haze but now even when I start a new game I can see it.

All of you with the problem, are you using steam?

Thank you for reply!

Do you know (at Frictional Games) why this changing to "false"

<var type="1" name="mbFogActive" val="true" />

for some it removes blue tint and for some it does not?

I'm the unlucky one, that string doesn't have effect in my case.

(09-12-2013, 12:46 AM)Less Blue Haze Please Wrote: My screen's blue haze is so bright I can't even play because it hurts my eyes. I made an account just to beg you guys to fix this problem. I cannot play your game like this, and many people have this issue. So either fix it or refund me please. I've tried editing my files to disable the haze, doing it as administrator, reinstalling, verifying steam cache. Nothing works, I have over 50 games on my pc that work flawlessly, yours is the only one that isn't working. I'm very, very unhappy right now. Super butthurt.

Can you show a screenshot of how bright it is? A game picture just to check compared to mine.

Btw, I have started playing the game with it and I got over it after some point. It is indeed intentional but has a small bug which is the opposite of what you want in this thread. Normally it should be always on, that's the bug. :p

I agree with dundledorf, I'm in the beginning (where there is supposed to be lot's of blue haze) but it's fine. After some minutes I stopped noticing it and when being outside it actually looks foggier and more realistic.

But maybe it's worse for some people due to wrong gamma etc... Also, make sure noone is running any monitor gamma/brightness calibrators such as f.lux.

Gotta say it looks fine to me, too. I admit I hadn't much time to play the game myself, yet. But from what I've seen from it, the trailer and the screenshot I must say: I like what you've done to the place. It just looks like the right setting and atmosphere in terms of this whole "machine" topic.

Even tho I gotta admit: I DID calibrate my monitor. But probably I did it right. Big Grin

My contrasts are good and my gamma is set to 1.0, i tried to lower it but it makes the whole image way too dark, even with lantern on.

http://img4.hostingpics.net/pics/3870712...200001.jpg

here is the original screen, and the same image with how colors should be (verified with lantern on at close range, even in that case they were still a little blue tint)

as you can see there is absolutely 0 difference between gray and brown ! white looks completely blue/green (instead of white/yellow(lights)) and red looks black.
