Amnesia: MFP has no sound at all!!!

well, you misunderstood me. I use sound card for movies and games when friends are with me. I have HDMI for Screen not for Audio and Amnesia was working before with drivers for HDMI audio installed (while I didn't use them). I use sound card because ASUS used crappy micro chip for mobo integrated 7.1 surround sound and it either burned or something else. so the only 2 events I can remember is changing screen (I bought 27' LED screen and connected with HDMI cable for best quality) after that I didn't play game for a while but recently when I tried to, it had no sound. I tried tweaking with settings different configurations no use (I returned them to default after). so here I am...

p.s. headset is wireless

Even if it is wireless, it must have a USB base station plugged-in. That's what I mean USB headset, pretty much the same thing. Anyway, usually Nvidia Virtual Audio is installed automatically with the driver installation. So try two things:

1. Unplug the HDMI cable and see if the game works then with the headset selected as audio output.
2. Plug the HDMI cable and make sure you have the Nvidia audio drivers installed. Maybe now it works?

well... that didn't work. One more thing here, I tried an experiment. I tried to record video with X-split, so that if the game has sound but I can't hear, video should have recorded it. but there is no sound in video as well. so maybe it is game that doesn't have sound?

Well I can't think of anything else that would be the game's issue. Maybe a background program or service is causing problems to the game and thus blocking sound or something? Try disabling any background programs first like antivirus, fraps, x-split etc...

it won't be anti-virus since I had it before and there are no such programs that may interfere with it. As I mentioned most obviously the problem is with sending audio signal. is it supposed to be settings or something deeper? crap I don't know what to do with this thing. Sad

I still think it has something to do with this specific computer/operating system/hardware configuration but I'm unable to figure out what is wrong exactly.

I'm afraid I don't have any suggestions beyond what has already been suggested. As it is a unique problem not heard of before it points to something specific with this setup and I don't have any idea really of what could be tested to solve it.

There are no more suggestions, you've done everything game-related. Noone else has such a problem. As I said before, this has to do with the specific hardware configuration, operating system settings etc of your system. At post #11 you said it yourself that it happened after changing the sound card even though you didn't use the previous one. It may be that, it may be something completely different related to your computer software or hardware configuration.
