EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
I'd like to try the demo, but as soon as it starts, it'll give me this error:
Quote:Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module <UNKNOWN> at 001B:00000000
This is at the lowest settings, lowest resolution.
I have an Intel chipset, if that helps.

RE: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
Attach your hpl.log file (/My Documents/Amnesia/Main) to your post. You also might want to attach your DxDiag file and your errorlog file (launch game -> crash game -> save the errorlog).
And yeah, I also got the access violation error too and did not find any solution that works.
Edit: I know that GDI Generic means the game uses your integrated graphics card instead of your proper graphics card. The integrated one is extremely inferior compared to your average card and is only used if you have no graphics card installed. They said something about editing your BIOS (to get to BIOS you have to restart your computer and keep pressing the Delete/F1/F2 keys) but I have no idea how. I'm not a BIOS person.

RE: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
If you only have the integrated graphics from Intel the game will not run on it, it requires an ATI/Nvidia card. Integrated graphics might work, but you will need the latest drivers possible that you can find and even then I think it will be very tricky to make it work.

RE: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
I have the same problem, first I started to get a message like this one at trying to run the game in the lowest resolution I could find:
Crash Report:
Amnesia.exe caused an EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION in module ig4icd32.dll at 001B:03D33DC2.
And after I change to medium or high settings, this is what I get:
FATAL ERROR: Renderer# could not be initialized! Make sure your graphic card drivers are up to date. Check log file for more information.
The thing is no matter what settings I use, I always get these two messages. Personally, I think this is linked with the fact that I'm using a laptop with an intel chipset( Yeah, pretty much integrated graphics). If anyone can help me out, I would really appreciate it. Here's my hpl engine log:

Afraid this is not the right hpl.log file. Check in My Documents/Amnesia/Main/

RE: EXCEPTION_ACCESS_VIOLATION
I got the editor and dev settings to work, now I get this error too as soon as I walk one meter in my own created level... Using lowest settingsa, but, the game itself works perfectly, did I do something in my level that is causing this? Edit: The error log I'm getting is now attached.
