with all these things, I'm lost. What's the problem again? Has it changed at all?

Lol, the problem is that the launcher.exe doesn't even start up it does nothing. And amnesia.exe shows a black screen followed by a black box error.

Strange, when i disable the drivers for my graphic card the launcher works but i still get the same error when trying to launch the game

When you disable them? What do you mean? Do you by any chance have another embedded/integrated graphics card like Intel for example? When the launcher started, what graphics card did it show?

in the device manager i can disable the ati radeon mobility hd5470 drivers. The launcher then says: "last settings crashed the game, falling back to defaults" and then the launcher shows GDI generic as video device.
When I click "detect" it says: "card not listed, assuming medium settings"

And I don't think i have a integrated/embedded graphics card, it doesn't show up anywhere. How do I test if i have one?

Edit: on the Intel page it says there is no integrated graphics

GDI generic is...nothing. Actually this is the lowest default graphics just to run Windows, maybe a movie and see what the screen displays. So, it seems that the launcher will not run with your default gpu card which is HD5470. At least we found the problem. That should be drivers problem. Are you sure you are running Catalyst 11.6 which is the latest?

Do this: Download Driver Sweeper
Make sure you are still on GDI Generic. If not, uninstall the AMD drivers.
Select all ATI, AMD, NVIDIA traces and if it founds something delete them all.
Reboot your system and then download this:

After installation reboot your system again. Make sure that in device manager your AMD card appears and try launching the launcher again.

AT LAST!!! I was getting crazy here. Mmm, maybe I could use that in the future. The problem must be problematic current drivers. Did you previously had catalyst 11.6 or you installed it now for the first time? Anyway, have fun playing the game!
