Monster?

Seriously if it opens closets... We are all screwed. No hiding, just running away? And the only places to hide are the cages in the slaughterhouse and the stair space...

I will say it for everyone here: There will be a lot more deaths than in TDD, when this beast got intelligent.

I'm pretty sure the monster(s) will probably be two legged. I was reading "Birth of a Monster Part 1", and I read this:

"Gameplay-wise the main constraint was that it had to walk in some human-like fashion and not crawl or move on all fours. This because we wanted to have a base collision that could easily fit into a cylinder, making it easier to code. For the first Penumbra game, we had dogs as the main enemy which, because they where four-legged, caused tons of issues. Something we wanted to avoid that this time around. Making sure implementation of the enemy is simple ties into saving resources. It was crucial that we did not want to have too many unknown factors when making the enemies. By making sure that most of the game's elements where familiar to us, we could much easier assure that we kept to the timetable and could spend time on polishing other parts of the game instead of trying to find AI bugs."

I think there will also be a 4 legged monster... I read in another thread that you can hear it from footsteps in the trailer with the cages. But i dont know if its true and when Frictional had issues with 4 legs... It could be 3 legged too Tongue

If I see a closet in-game, I'm just gonna go "Fuck that" and hide somewhere else.

I feel like AMFP will have a scene where they deliberately offer you a closet as a hiding space, and I feel that it'll be a trap.

I have the EXACT same feeling. I even prefer hiding behind some curtains then hiding in a closet.

3 legged? That'd be interesting, I don't think I've heard of something like that done before.
