Only Goes Up To Welcome Screen

I recently purchased Amnesia: The Dark Descent from Steam. After purchasing it and installing it, I found that it would only load up to the welcome screen which says,

Welcome to Amnesia: The Dark Descent

What follows are some quick messages on how to get the best possible experience.

Then it doesn't go any further. Another thing I find was that my mouse wasn't moving smoothly and was cutting out (disappearing and then reappearing).

Thinking my computer wasn't used to it running, I restarted it and tried again, which I have been doing nearly everyday hoping it will work. When it didn't seem to fix the problem, I came to the forums and tried updating my graphics card. After doing that, I launched the game and the same thing happened. I've made sure the HPL file is in the correct place and I've also done a Steam Integrity check on the files and they were fine. I have also attached the HPL file below.

What I have:

A laptop with a 64 bit Windows 8.1

HPL log and graphics card please.

Also, Welcome screen?
What exactly do you see.

The HPL Log is in the main folder, I have a laptop with a Nvidia GEFORCE 745M graphics card. And as for what I see? I see a screen that says (not exactly)

1) There should be an OK button down at the intro screens, have you seen that?
2) If it's not there at all, make sure you do a steam file integrity check as there might be corrupted files.
3) If these fail, after the problem occurs, force-close the game and attach file HPL.log as mentioned at the troubleshooting guide, Problem X (not the one is game directory but the one from Documents).

When at the welcome screen try smashing the enter button a few times, Worth a shot. Or just click the lower middle (not the exact bottom but close) a couple times.

Worth a try.

Otherwise I'll leave it to Pluto ^.^

1) Keep in mind that your graphics card is not supported and usually Intel HD cards are the source of issues. Make sure you have the latest Intel HD drivers installed by following the Have Disk Method guide mentioned at the Graphics Card Troubleshooting Guide.
2) After that, go to Documents and delete the folder Amnesia.
3) Then, do a steam file integrity check (Troubleshooting guide, Problem I) and make sure that no errors are reported.
4) If the above do not solve the problem, some background program/service is causing problems to the game. Check Problem A4 of the troubleshooting guide for some known programs that cause issues. Of course there are bound to be more so make sure you also disable any other background programs like antivirus/firewall etc and try again.

If you press esc it should continue the messages, but i cant find solution to mouse jumping around and disappearing.
(Im also having this problem)
